NORTHWEST OHIO BUSINESS ALLIANCE

The Northwest Ohio Business Alliance (NWOBA) was formed in 2018 to offer medical and prescription drug benefits to the employees and their family members of small employers across northwest Ohio through a fully insured group purchasing program.

In early 2022, NWOBA established the NWOBA MEWA Trust to provide the same benefits on a self-funded basis through a program of self-insurance approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance.

The NWOBA MEWA Trust began accepting employers under its new self-insured Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) program on May 1, 2022.

FOUNDING ORGANIZATIONS

The Northwest Ohio Business Alliance was established by three long-standing (and familiar) Northwest Ohio non-profit organizations dedicated to serving the needs of employers across the northwest Ohio region.
