EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to being a member of one of the sponsoring organizations, an employer wishing to join the MEWA must meet the several qualifications noted below.

  • If you are a new business, you must have been in business for at least one year prior to joining
  • If you are a Sole Proprietorship, you must show total business income of $60,000 annually for the two consecutive years prior to joining
  • All employers, including Sole Proprietorships, must participate in and provide evidence of coverage under Ohio Workers Compensation

*A stand-alone PPO network is also available to members living temporarily outside of the MEWA Service Area or subscribers permanently residing outside of the MEWA Service Area with plan approval.
